Fundraising stall raises thousands for charity

The coronavirus lockdown was no obstacle for a Fenstanton 探花社区 member determined to raise money for charity.

Due to lockdown restrictions, Jean Ding decided to move her stall from the church to outside her home, in Cambridgeshire, and raised 拢3,200 in the process.

She never expected her stall to take off the way it did.

Speaking to , Jean said: 鈥淚 am very pleased and I have now supported something like 16 or 17 charities. I have also met some lovely, lovely people.鈥

Jean raised the staggering sum by selling books, jigsaws and other items donated to her, together with plants when in season.

鈥淚 used to put the stall out at the 探花社区 once a month but it had to close when the lockdown came last March, so I decided to put [it] outside my house to see what would happen and now I have raised 拢3,200.

鈥淚 cover what I would have raised for the church with the stall and then the rest goes to other charities. The plants will soon be up and running.鈥
